Classes at JupiterFIRST

JupiterFIRST Church strives to help our members improve the spiritual quality of their lives so we as Christians are able to live the best lives possible. As we learn how to improve our spiritual lives we enjoy the opportunity to fellowship with other members of our believers community.

2 Peter 3:18 – “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.”

Stephen Ministry Training Class

Every day you see people who are hurting: those who have lost a job, lost a loved one, gone through a divorce, or are battling a terminal illness. Stephen Ministers are God's representatives who bring his love to those who are hurting. As an extension of our ministerial staff, Stephen Ministers have an impact on people's lives at times when they really need someone to care.

This is an in-depth class that follows the National Stephen Ministry program of training.  Intended to equip qualified lay caregivers to provide high quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are in need.

Set Apart: Holy Habits of Prophets & Kings

Set Apart is a dynamic small group/DVD study of 1 and 2 Kings that examines the holy habits of six prophets and kings who were set apart from the other leaders by their close walk with God.  Each week we will explore the central story of one of these intriquing men of God and the specific practice each observed, as well as what the Bible teaches about this practice.

Dates: Wednesdays,
9:30 am - 11:15 am

Writing Class

Leader: Amy Jurskis

Third Tuesday of each month, 6:30 - 7:30pm, Resumes January 16 - March 20
Location:  The Center for Spiritual Renewal

Register On-line

Each of us has a story to tell, and by looking carefully at our memories, we can see how God's hand has been at work along the way. Writing your life story can be an act of meditation, healing, and ultimately praise. By using examples from spiritual memoirs by a range of authors along with guided writing prompts, this class will help guide you to write your own memoir, paying close attention to the big and small God moments along the way. Each class will include time for workshopping and sharing works in progress along with a short reading followed by a writing exercise and prompts to work on before the next class.

The class is led by Amy Jurskis, English Teacher - Oxbridge Academy. Please register on-line. For more information contact Susie Smith at the church office, 561-747-8340 or at
